5 Tips to Boost Your Votes

Hoping to win the Call2Recycle Viewer’s Choice Award?  In 2015, the school with the highest number of votes was also the smallest school by population to enter the BC Green Games. With a great voting campaign, this year it could be your school!  Check out these five tips on boosting votes for your project:

1.  Word of Mouth.

Show off your video or photo essay to your friends and family and encourage them to vote.  If you're on a sports team or club outside of school, let them know what you’re up to and share a link to your project.

2.  Classroom Announcements.

Visit other classrooms at your school and do short announcements at the start of class.  Make sure to ask your teacher and the teachers whose classrooms you would be visiting in advance to check if you’re allowed to use their class time for announcements.

3.  Twitter.

Tweet about your project and let your followers know they can vote for you – in 140 characters or less.

If you don’t have twitter, it’s super easy to sign up.  Some of our BC Green Games teams even have their own team accounts.

4.  Facebook & Instagram.

Share your project through Facebook or Instagram.  You can also share behind the scenes photos or clips that didn’t make it into your final project for your supporters to enjoy.

5.  Be Diligent.

During the month of March, make it a habit to vote when you have small chunks of spare time – waiting for a bus to come, waiting to meet someone, during breaks between classes, or waiting for a video to buffer.

Remember, you can vote once per hour, per IP address and you have until Mar. 31 to vote.

If your team has developed other unique voting strategies, we’d love to hear them.  Connect with us through:
