BC Green Games: Science World's Eco-Storytelling Contest

10 years of BC Green Games

Science World's digital eco-storytelling contest is turning ten years old!

BC Green Games supports BC teachers and promotes place-based environmental education. This project-style, inquiry-based program is a 21st century learning opportunity in scientific exploration, storytelling, media arts and advocacy.

Between October 1 and April 4, teams can document and submit their green stories, win prizes, and help us celebrate ten years of environmental action with their green achievements!

Submit Your Project

Projects can be a photo essay or a 3-minute video and can include brochures, websites/webpages, music and art. Projects should feature a strong student voice, a connection to a place and a plan for ongoing environmental action advocacy.

Projects can be an environmental action your class is already working on, a brand new idea, or a combination of both!

Submissions will begin again on October 1, 2017!

Awards and Prizes

In addition to sleepovers, workshops and travel subsidies for a free Science World field trip, BC Green Games awards $15,000 in cash prizes to encourage and support environmental endeavours in schools. Your green team could win up to $2,500 for your school's green initiatives!

Win or lose, all BC Green Games teams are invited to Science World at TELUS World of Science for a free field trip during our Green Month.
